My Top 5 Free or Inexpensive Things to do in the Reno Area

  1. Hot August Nights or Street Vibrations Honestly, I ended up here because I had a doctor’s appointment scheduled during Hot August Nights. (Hotel rates are expensive during this time, so if you can stay with a friend or find some way to get cheap accommodations, that would be the best way to experience it.) I love the people watching and photo opportunities. If cars aren’t your thing, try Street Vibrations. Hot August Nights https://hotaugustnights.net/event-schedule/
  2. Walk the strip. It’s always fun to try to wind your way through the circuitous resorts. It’s a cool way to chill if you don’t have other plans.
  3. Visit the University of Nevada, Reno Arboretum I wish I had visited this place sooner. Beautiful scenery in which to take a walk or picnic and enjoy the green space. You can make it as educational or relaxing as you want. University of Nevada, Reno Arboretum https://www.unr.edu/arboretum
  4. Walk the river. According to the website, it’s ranked in America’s Top 10 Riverwalks and I’d believe it. It’s nice to just walk along the river (you can even fish it, too), you can also plan stops along the way at various restaurants. There are Wine Walks the third Saturday of every month. 5. Go to Ding Tea. No trip to Reno is complete without a stop at Ding Tea. I love their boba and all the ways you can customize drinks. I’ve tried other places and this is by far my favorite. I always get a creme brulee top, even on drinks you probably shouldn’t. Ding Tea Reno https://dingteareno.com/ Here’s a photo of one of my favorite drinks.
