Email Time Capsule

When I was pregnant with my son and trying to brainstorm cool, memorable things I could do for him as a keepsake, I spent a lot of time on Pinterest. There are so many options out there, such as create a plate with footprints or butt prints; do a photoshoot; make a baby book/scrapbook. I loved all these ideas, but never committed to one.

My coworker and friend, Lisa, mentioned an easy, low cost idea. Create an email address for your child (although, I imagine that this would work for anyone you love or care for) and send emails chronicling your memories or (whatever your heart desires) to the email address. Parents/guardians keep the email address and password a secret and then give them access to the account when they graduate, or some other milestone of your choosing. I love that you can make this as simple or complex as you want. I resolved to follow through with this in 2023. (I don’t know if it made it in my official list of resolutions, though.)

My first letter I put together in Adobe Photoshop. I doubt I’ll always do that, but I thought I would try to be extra for the first one. I attached a lot of photos to the email, too. Maybe a drive link might be nice? Have you tried this? What do you think?
