Snacks in Maui

I’ve been dreaming of Maui lately. A cold front just moved in here and it makes me long for the warm weather and sunny beaches. I’m grateful for the precipitation, but I wouldn’t turn down an island vacation. I struggled with what I wanted to say in this post; I jotted down all the good memories I have of Maui and found a unifying theme for this post. Snacks!

My only regret is that I didn’t take more photos. (At the time, I was just taking photos with my old iPhone 8.)

Malasadas. I’m sure there are many places you could go, but I absolutely loved Komoda Store and Bakery. I bought a few dozen of them.

Minit Stop Chicken. I know, fried chicken and other snacks. 🙄 what can I say? It’s delicious and convenient.

Anything covered in li hing mui powder. I crave the salty, sour, sweet taste of this powder. I love buying gummy bears and other candies coated with this or as a topping on shave ice.

Spam musubi. I’ve become pretty good at making this dish at home because there’s nowhere to buy it locally. I love how it’s portable and you can find it anywhere.

Foodland. Foodland had the best snacks. The poke there is my favorite. I love rushing there in the evening and picking up random slices of cake.

I hope to make it back soon. I also hope this made you want some snacks. Aloha!
